Dr. Neal Anzai is a world-renowned expert in adolescent mental health and eating disorders, bringing more than 40 years of experience treating thousands of eating disorder patients in the United States prior to coming to Ontario Shores.

He was educated in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry at University of California, Davis, Stanford and UCLA. This progressed to numerous clinical and leadership positions at various hospitals, outpatient centres and clinics in both California and Hawaii.

He has also served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, University of Hawaii, was a Board Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both general, and child and adolescent psychiatry and also served as a reviewer for research articles for the prestigious Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

With his visionary approach, built on absolute belief in providing world class care for adolescents suffering from severe, life endangering eating disorders, he was recruited to Ontario Shores. Under Dr. Anzai’s leadership, Ontario Shores Eating Disorder Unit (EDU) has been able to improve the treatment and therefore, outcomes, for eating disorder teens who have often failed to improve in other programs.
